I got an App for that!

I just jumped on the Android bandwagon and have been amazed at the number of apps that are available for my new mobile device.  Between the Android platform, iPhone and ever increasing Blackberry Apps - I think there are more apps than any human would ever need. None the less, it poses an interesting question: Are you using mobile apps as part of your requirements gathering, modeling, etc? I did a quick search and found a few "BA related" apps. To keep the conversation going and generate some feedback from our subscribers, I'd love you to respond to the following question(s):

  1. Do you think mobile apps for your iPhone, Droid or Blackberry would be beneficial in your day to day job?
  2. Do you currently use mobile "BA focused" apps?
  3.  If so- which ones? It would be great to share some success stories and lessons learned.

As always- this forum is about being better professionals. I'd love to have a better sense of what mobile tools you use to make your work easier and more productive?

It isn't BA specific, but the Dropbox app is an awesome help in my day job. If I don't have my laptop with me, I still have access to all my files and can bring up anything I'm working on, right from my iPhone. The Dragon Dictation app and the default Voice Recorder apps are useful as well to capture random thoughts and ideas.

I need to look for a drop box app for my Blackberry Storm. I do use EverNote for documentation purposes. Doc instantly available on my desktop Notebook and Storm after saving in evernote. I used Dragon for email (Free) and I am using DriveSafe,ly. DriveSafe.ly will can speak your email and text while you are driving . They even have a callerID to read to you who is calling. Separate app of DriveSafe.ly cool tool.

Love the DriveSafe.ly app and will look into that one myself! I agree that Dragon is a great app and I use it often. Would still love to know if anyone is using "BA" specific apps at all? Let us know!
